not invisible.

You are not invisible! You may feel alone at times… but God has promised he will NEVER leave us alone. He even gives us fighting gear! We can stand up to anything, it empowers us to fight each battle with confidence and strength. We are not intended to be weak christians, but Strong overcomers!
“mom, let’s play superheros” This is my 4 year old’s constant request. It doesn’t matter what superhero it is… He just wants to be strong, fast, and be a mighty super hero. So my genius husband gave him the coolest title ever: he is a “mighty man of God“. He even flexes his muscles for us. So cute. But the other day my son got mad at me… Every superhero has a super hero outfit and he wanted one too. So I told him about the Invisible  superhero Armor of God.

I thought it might  encourage you to hear the story:

I told him that every mighty man-woman of God has been given a superhero “invisible” outfit called the Armor of God… At first he was upset cause he couldn’t  see it… but after explaining the power of invisibility (The enemy can’t see you coming) He was so  excited and asked me how to put it on.

So we take the invisible Helmet (of Salvation) and put it on… it protects our minds so we can be joyful, brave and courageous,

then we buckle the super invisible vest (breastplate) of righteousness.. being right with God protects our hearts,

next is the belt of truth, it goes all the way around us and it holds everything in place if we tell the truth and remember God’s truth.

Next, the shoes of peace – telling him to not fight with people, sisters ect, but being a peacemaker will give you power to walk wherever you need to go and help you tell the good news of the gospel.

Now he gets to put on the huge sword! The Sword of the Spirit. (The bible) Because he has God’s spirit living in him and can use scriptures, he has a weapon that can never be defeated.

And finally, the sheild of faith.. We must believe God (The bible and what Jesus did for us) and that is what shields us from the enemy.

Oh ya- we have a secret language code (Speaking in the spirit)  that only God understands, so the enemy can’t get in on the strategies. Sooo cool.

Now he runs all over the house, swinging his invisible sword and winning all the battles.

Yes, this is a very simplistic story, but I hope he remembers always the power he has on his side as he lives as a mighty man of God.

Just a reminder, this is all yours too. It’s invisible to our eyes, but in the spiritual it is not invisible at all. In fact, it is intimidating, overpowering to the enemy when he sees us in this armor.

How do you put on God’s armor:

1- By simply recognizing you cannot do life alone, Ask for and receive  God’s power!

2- Believe that the blood Jesus shed on the cross and rose again victoriously is enough for you and anything u may face.

3- Get Dressed! Just like we put on our clothes each day, we need to remember our spiritual clothes as well. Clothing is a status symbol all over the world. It indicates your class level ect.  As we “put on” the full armor of God we tell the enemy our spiritual status.

We are no longer all alone.  Put on the armor of God every day! This battle is not a loosing one. God is a true superhero- he always wins. Be strong in the the Lord and the power of His might! #Winning! You are not invisible to God! He is fighting with you!

The Armor of God                          Ephesians 6:10-18 (New International Version, ©2011)
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
