Sitting by the window with a delicious cup of coffee and a view of the waves crashing along the ocean side. So beautiful! I am in awe of the beauty of God‘s handiwork. I love, love, love the beach. Just a moment ago, as I was sitting here peacefully, the door suddenly slammed open and 4 kids came rushing in… questioning, where were you? Haha, I reply, still right here the whole time. They had a handful of things that needed attention “RIGHT NOW”. And just as quickly as they stormed in, they went back out… crisis over! And peace again. It’s only 8am and I already know this will be the constant senerio that plays out all day long. Moments of peace and moments of craziness. lol. As I sit here loving the view and enjoying the time away from the humdrum of life… I hear God gently reminding me.
1-This Life is just like the waves of the ocean.
Daily waves come crashing down in our lives… many times a day :o) some bigger, some smaller – all of them come to an end and go back out.
A huge lovely mess that was unexpected, the neighbor or friend who needs time to talk out a crisis, the child who needs a ride here and there, the messes of a two year old, breaking up and calming a sibling fight, the laundry piles, the unmet dream that hauntingly awakened in your heart, All the days pressures. We get through them all.
2- God sees beauty in our waves!
I imagine God’s perspective of our waves, is much like mine of the ocean, He sees the beauty in them, He sees them coming in and how they always fizzle out and go away. He is the creator of the Ocean and causes every wave to go back out, He is also the creator of our lives… He is creating something beautiful.
3- The waves are creating beautiful character in us.
I pray that we could have God’s perspective in the middle of our daily “waves”, that we could see the Character being formed by each wave, how it reveals and then cleans and washes away the impurities… if we run to God.
4- God promises to never leave us alone!
Our waves are not taking God by surprise, sometimes they are self imposed waves, and others are the natural things of life, But God is able to give us His perspective and help in the middle of it all… And when we are overwhelmed and we rush in asking God, where were you?… He replies, I was here the whole time! He will take care of all of our “right now” emergencies… If we will only come to Him.
If you are in the middle of a wave today and feel as though you will drown, remember our Faithful God, and that He will see you through, He will not let you drown and this wave will go out again!
Romans 5:3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
Praying for you all today.
All my love-
Pr. Elana :o)
