Many times a day, My 2 year old comes running up, yanks on my hand & demands his way RIGHT NOW. I think he is the cutest thing on the planet, and so if he has the right attitude I gladly give him what he is asking for, if it is good for him. The problem is that he is two! A good attitude is the main thing we are teaching right now and so when he throws a fit, he simply does not get his way.
I think many times we get impatient with God just like my two year old gets impatient with me. I love my boy, and only want the very best for him… that is exactly why he must wait sometimes. So when God says that “those who will inherit the Kingdom of God must come to him like children”… Don’t forget that this means GOD is the boss and we are obeying him and trusting His timing. Kids don’t get to do whatever they want. They don’t make their own schedule, they are dependent and often need gentle correction.
Our Impatientance only brings frustration and can deter us from the perfect plan of God!
The trusting part is the hardest sometimes… Just like a parent, God knows exactly why his kids are waiting and there is a plan in the works.
Praying for you today, that you will have the strength of the Lord in whatever area of your life you find yourself waiting and trusting.
Ps. 37:34 Don’t be impatient for the Lord to act! Travel steadily along his path, He will honor you and give you the land!
