Ready, Set, WAIT. The beginning of the story of CityLifeChurch – more to come.

Are you ready? Here we go… just 5 days until we launch City Life Church. We are so excited and God has done so many miracles…. and there is so much more to come. Are you ready to hear a bit about the journey so far? In the next few days, I will post a few blogs to catch you up…. In the meantime… Invite someone to our church this Sunday!

Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. heb. 10:36

Have you ever felt like patient endurance was unattainable? Let me tell you the story of our journey. It’s been 2 months since my last post and It’s time to start telling our story! Two months ago on a tearful, brutal & yet beautiful Sunday Morning- July 1st our team was sent out to start City Life Church San Francisco! It was a wonderful, scary, exciting and crazy day… it was Bruitiful! (Click here to read more about that day)

So much has happened in 2 months that I plan to take a few blogs to tell you about the journey. I can’t begin to explain how difficult waiting is sometimes. It has truly been a soul-searching process with curve balls that we didn’t see coming! We have had to rely on God for everything! Even waiting.
We wanted to hear God’s voice for each step. Our answer: to each step: Be still and know I am God.

We were sent out: and then
No new house yet
No school for the kids yet
No location for the church building

Just wait!

We began to have small church services in our home with our plant team. They were wonderful meetings where God showed up – we talked about the future and all God put in our hearts for San Francisco – we laughed, cried, and ate lots of yummy food together. But every week there was still the ready, set….. Wait feeling. It seemed like one step forward, one step back… Looking for a house, schooling for kids, a place to have church…. Nothing seemed to work out.

But we found that It’s in the “wait” that God does His best work. A soul rendering, searching, & molding process that sometimes defies the longing of your heart. All logic and timetables get thrown out and trust takes their place. True faith arises. The kind of faith that overrides the plans of man and steps into a reality far bigger than we can see. Anxiety and fear always try to rear their ugly heads in this season. But we choose not to LET it take over our hearts. The bible says>;>;>; Don’t LET your hearts be troubled. IT was an active choice everyday!

Our favorite verse is: BE strong and courageous! Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go! Josh.1:9
Yep, we had to repeat that verse over and over… our timeline was off… and that’s where we were, hurry up and – wait! And God was busy working out all the details for His will to be accomplished… It was a great and yet a hard season.

If you find yourself in a waiting season be encouraged! God’s not done yet, and this isn’t the end of the story! Keep watching this blog to hear about all our miracles! It’s an amazing story and it’s not even finished!
