Shine

Day 2- Eph. 1:14-23

Our challenge today … Listen today to the nudges of the Holy Spirit prompting you to obey, to love on others & to be a light that shines Jesus to all around you! It’s time to Shine!

“I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.”
Here are a few things we can take away from scripture of what God wants for us:
God’s dream for us is that we would be Strong in faith
Keys to strong faith:
1-Give thanks to God in all circumstances – even the hard ones. Giving Thanks enables our  hearts to trust God.
2-Pray always. Keep the conversation with God going.
3-love unconditionally. Ask God to always have a love for God’s people & people everywhere.
4-Keep growing. Ask God to give us wisdom and insight to consistently Grow in Him. We will never outgrow our need to grow in God.
5-Get God’s perspective. Let God flood our hearts with his light – his perspective that drives out sin and darkness
The Result of strong faith:
Godly confidence.  I like to call it your “Shine”. :o) You will shine and people will see Jesus your confident hope  and  a peace that is unstoppable.
As we see & believe God’s perspective now we can expect a confident Hope to FLOOD our hearts. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I really need that flood. :o). Not our own pride, but a true confidence arises. We can walk confidently in our sphere of life and our call everyday.
Why:
Our influence on others is irreplaceable when we realize People are God’s inheritance. We are his greatest treasure. Those people in your life, God created you to SHINE his love to them so they will want what you have  and be saved.  It’s all about people.
The key to how to be and do all of this:
Understand the incredible greatness of God’s power... available to all who believe.  It’s not by our strength and effort  but by His spirit. This same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you. Through Christ- nothing in our lives is impossible to walk through. The word impossible itself says I’m Possible!  God is bigger, stronger, more powerful, more than able in any situation.
God is the ultimate planner- he always builds with purpose.
The Purpose:
God is building his church- the people, the power, the growth & maturity. Jesus is the head of the church and he is strengthening us so we can be a part of it. We get to be a part of What God is doing in His church. I take great comfort as a pastor knowing that even though we as people are fallible and make mistakes, It is not our church or our call alone, it is Gods!

We can be encouraged to take this prayer and pray it over all the people God has put in our path: Children, family, leaders, Co- workers, neighbors… all the  people in our world. When you pray for others- you develop a compassion for them, you start to feel God’s love for them. You are empowered to SHINE God’s love. God’s LOVE is one of the greatest & most effective weapons – it tears down every wall. Let’s do this. Armed and Dangerous.
